SPC Pedro Maldonado, 20, from Houston, Texas was assigned to 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. He was KIA on October 29, 2010, in Kandalay, Afghanistan. He is survived by his parents, Pedro and Maria, his twin sister, Bianca, and younger siblings Jennifer and Jonathan.

Pedro loved music. He owned 4 guitars and was always learning new songs. Joining the Army was a dream he pursued since high school. He immediately joined in August of 2008, after graduating high school. He loved serving his country, a true patriot.

His awards and decorations include National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
