Freedom comes at a cost, and the families of the fallen bear this burden daily.

The Music Remembers Project by Memories of Honor, a national nonprofit based in Nashville, is dedicated to preserving the memory of those lost during or due to military service. Our mission is to make Memorial Day every day by creating living memorials that honor the sacrifice, courage, and memory of our fallen heroes.

The Music Remembers Project unites the music industry to honor America’s fallen heroes and show love and respect to their families. By sharing stories of bravery, life, and sacrifice, we put a face to the true cost of freedom.

This initiative brings together talented artists, musicians, songwriters, and music industry professionals with surviving family members and military veterans. Through the healing power of music and storytelling, Music Remembers Project creates poignant tributes that honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It also offers a unique opportunity for the music community and its fans to actively participate, showing love and respect to the surviving families.

Collaboration is at the heart of Music Remembers. We work closely with artist management, radio, and media to offer exclusive experiences for surviving families and veterans, such as concert tickets, backstage passes, and meet-and-greets with the artists. For example, in 2019, we partnered with Charlie Daniels, who generously hosted one surviving family at each tour stop, providing them with tickets, backstage passes, and a private meet-and-greet. Additionally, we teamed up with Big D & Bubba to allow families of the fallen to share their stories during Memorial Day 2024. This initiative gives the fallen a voice and provides their families a platform to share their loved ones' stories, ensuring their legacy lives on.
